One of the first questions I ask my couples is, “How did you two meet”, then “How did you know he/she was the one?” As they begin talking, I can put together their ceremony based on their personal journeys instead of just showing up for a ceremony and reciting a canned speech. Some tell me they knew it was right the minute their eyes met. Others tell me how they had been friends for years and suddenly the relationship changed and they realized they wanted to spend their lives together. In my experience, I’ve found that younger couples meet through mutual friends and those over 30 usually have met either through work or over the Internet.
